Custom Color Matching

How Pantone Matching Works

  1. You provide a Pantone (PMS) color code (e.g., Pantone 286 C for a specific blue)
  2. The factory mixes powder coating or paint to match that code
  3. A color sample is produced for your approval
  4. Once approved, all production uses that exact formula

Designing Your Custom Box

For a custom retail box, you will need to provide:

  1. Box dimensions — We calculate based on product size
  2. Die-line template — We provide the template; you place your design
  3. Print files — AI, PDF, or EPS format, CMYK color mode, 300 DPI
  4. Finish specifications — Matte/glossy lamination, spot UV, foil stamping, embossing

Typical timeline for custom packaging: 5-7 days for design proof, 7-10 days for production.

The Customization Process Step by Step

Step 1: Define Your Requirements (Day 0)

  • Logo design file (vector format: AI, EPS, or SVG)
  • Target Pantone colors
  • Packaging design concept
  • Compliance requirements for your market
  • Barcode numbers (if applicable)

Step 2: Get a Customization Quote (Day 1-2)

We confirm with the factory:

  • Feasibility of each customization request
  • Setup costs and per-unit costs
  • MOQ for each customization level
  • Updated lead time

Step 3: Approve Samples (Day 5-15)

The factory produces:

  • A customized product sample with your logo and color
  • A packaging sample (if custom packaging)
  • A color match sample (if custom color)

You review and approve (or request changes).

Step 4: Mass Production (Day 15-45)

  • Production begins after sample approval and deposit payment
  • In-line quality checks during production
  • Logo placement and quality verified at inspection
  • Packaging assembled and labeled per your specifications

Step 5: Final Inspection and Shipment (Day 45-50)

  • Final random inspection at AQL 2.5
  • Verify logo alignment, color accuracy, packaging quality
  • Barcode scan test
  • Loading photos before container sealing

Common Customization Mistakes

  1. Don’t use low-resolution logos — Vector files (AI/EPS) are required for crisp printing. JPG/PNG files produce blurry results.
  2. Don’t assume colors match across materials — Your Pantone blue will look different on powder-coated steel vs. anodized aluminum vs. printed cardboard. Always approve physical samples.
  3. Don’t forget packaging dimensions — A custom box that is 5mm too small will damage the product. We calculate exact dimensions for you.
  4. Don’t skip barcode verification — Test-scan your barcodes before mass production. A barcode that doesn’t scan costs sales.
  5. Don’t change specs mid-production — Changes after production starts cause delays, waste materials, and increase costs. Lock in specifications at sample approval.
